Challenge
Drilling riser support/bedding of oak had been used for a while. This did not satisfy the requirements from Statoil’s A standard. There was a desire to improve this.
Solution
The customer had good ideas here, and through a close dialogue with the customer through sketches and 3D drawings, we produced a very good product. The product has a good design, visible colour and much longer durability than the existing material.
